CEDS/RP
This Georgia Mountains Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and Regional Plan (RP) is part of a regional planning and implementation process designed to coordinate economic and community development programs and policies within the 12-county Georgia Mountains region..
As the region’s federally designated Economic Development District (EDD) the GMRC must develop and maintain an approved strategy for economic growth and development.
As the area’s State-designated regional planning agency the GMRC is responsible for maintaining a Plan that identifies and coordinates remediation measures for issues and opportunities that impact multiple communities within the region in areas such as environmental management, community facilities, and land use.
